Technical Service Representative

Water Treatment Technical Service Representative

Location: Field-Based / On the Road (with Warehouse Access)
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $22.00–$27.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week (occasional weekends as needed)


Position Overview

Water Engineering is seeking a reliable, self-directed, and detail-oriented Water Treatment Technical Service Representative to support our growing customer base. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective operation of water treatment programs across a variety of industrial and commercial facilities. Responsibilities include site service, analytical testing, equipment troubleshooting, chemical inventory management, and delivering exceptional customer support.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct customer site visits to assess water system performance, verify proper operation of water treatment equipment, and monitor chemical inventory

  • Execute monthly service plans and fulfill all contractual service requirements

  • Perform analytical testing to evaluate treatment program effectiveness and system stability

  • Complete service reports and maintain accurate daily entries in the company database

  • Deliver chemical products and manage onsite inventory levels

  • Perform test procedures, calibration routines, and instrumentation checks, with training provided as needed

  • Identify required support, parts, equipment, and customer training to ensure proper system operation and preventative maintenance

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues onsite, including equipment repair and calibration in accordance with O&M manuals

  • Collaborate with Account Managers to resolve service issues and optimize treatment applications

  • Stay current on all technical processes, operational procedures, and safety requirements

  • Demonstrate a strong safety mindset in all work activities, including maintaining safe driving habits

  • Follow established service route schedules and prioritize tasks effectively

  • Provide professional and timely communication with customers and internal teams


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 4+ years of computer skills/experience (Required)

  • 2 years of industrial water treatment experience preferred, or related technical field experience

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel approximately 25% within the territory

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with pumps, controllers, feed systems, and industrial equipment

  • Ability to troubleshoot chemical feed equipment and diagnose system performance issues

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in diverse environments (indoor/outdoor, industrial settings)

  • Ability to follow safety protocols and company procedures consistently


Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree or diploma in Electrical/Electronic Technology, Instrumentation, Engineering, or a related discipline

  • 2+ years of experience in water treatment, plant operations, maintenance, plumbing, electronics, or equivalent military/technical training

  • General knowledge of electrical equipment, basic plumbing, and industrial safety practices

  • Familiarity with digital tools and platforms, including NetSuite

  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort diagnosing mechanical or instrumentation issues

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and provide technical support in a customer-facing role

  • Understanding of water treatment processes, control logic, programming, and chemical applications

  • Capacity to make sound decisions aligned with company goals and customer requirements

  • Willingness to travel daily within a three-hour radius
